Rent a Razor to Explore Cascade Springs

One of the liveliest ways to see the backcountry is from the open-air seat of your own razor, also known as a side-by-side ATV. Trek on secure trails to Cascade Springs, featuring small waterfalls and streams cascading through limestone terraces and sparkling pools. This trip can be made on your own or with a guide. There are a handful of rental locations in the Park City area. The climb, while not difficult, is thrilling as it reaches a summit of nearly 9,000 feet. Park City’s quaint Historic Main Street is perfect for an afternoon stroll. Loaded with inviting eateries, art galleries, museums and tours, it is easy to spend hours exploring every nook and cranny. Explore Park City on an E-Bike

Biking through more than 7,000 acres is a freeing way to spend a fall morning. Let the crisp fall air take your breath away as you ride all the way from Kimball Junction to Deer Valley on the city path system. There is easy access to the path system near almost every Deer Valley lodge. Throughout the acreage, there are over a hundred historic sites, many of which go unnoticed by car. White Pine Touring offers not only a beautiful scenic ride on electric bikes, but a guided educational experience in the rich history of Park City as well. If group tours aren’t your thing, try riding solo using Summit Bike Share’s electric bikes. They are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for a small fee, so you can navigate the steep roads that surround town with ease. 

Hike to Bloods Lake

Immerse yourself in the fall colors by hiking to Bloods Lake and enjoying a picnic. Grab a take-away lunch from Deer Valley Grocery~Café and set off on your adventure. Bloods Lake is a high alpine lake that is relatively easy to access. The drive up and over Empire Pass is just about 20 minutes from Park City’s Main Street. The trail to the lake meanders through colorful meadows and groves of fluttering aspen trees, while featuring scenic views and stunning fall colors. The hike’s total distance is 2.8 miles with some steeper sections to get your blood pumping.  

Ride the Heber Valley Historic Railroad 

After all the hiking and biking, a more relaxing, restful activity is in order; take a train ride on the Heber Valley Railroad in an air-conditioned historic coach. The train departs from the Heber Depot and winds through agricultural lands, across the Provo River and along the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, before tracing the north bank of Deer Creek Reservoir. Not only may you witness moose, deer and a cornucopia of fall color, you will be entertained by tall tales from the sheriff, a talented fiddler and a possible hold up by bandits. Formerly called The Heber Creeper, the railroad offers a variety of excursions from which to choose. The three-hour round trip down Provo Canyon is spectacular.
