Deer Valley Resort is pleased to welcome Hector Armendariz as the new chef for The Brass Tag, the resort’s gourmet brick-oven restaurant. Having worked in hotels and resorts for more than 10 years, Armendariz will oversee The Brass Tag’s new menu, which features Deer Valley-inspired comfort food and specialized brick oven cuisine.

“Hector has shared his cooking prowess with some of the best hotels and resorts in the area,” said Jodie Rogers, director of food and beverage for Deer Valley Resort. “We look forward to the culinary delights and creative menu offerings he’ll dish up at The Brass Tag.”

Prior to joining Deer Valley, Armendariz was Chef De Cuisine at the Grand America Hotel. His sous chef experience includes time at Snowbird’s Aerie Restaurant, Sundance’s Tree Room Restaurant and Montage’s Apex restaurant. Born and raised in Heber City, Utah, he attended culinary school at the Utah Valley University. When Armendariz isn’t cooking or reading cookbooks in his spare time, he enjoys snowboarding, playing basketball, biking, running and spending time with friends and family.
