Chuck English: 36 Years at Deer Valley Resort

Chuck English is retiring as of January 16, 2017, after 36 years with Deer Valley Resort.

Thank you Chuck, for your leadership, friendship and many contributions to Deer Valley Resort. We wish you all the best in your retirement.

Chuck English served as director of mountain operations for Deer Valley Resort for 31 years and has worked in the ski industry for 43 years. Before moving to Park City in 1981, Chuck worked at Alta Ski Area in Utah’s Little Cottonwood Canyon for nine years.

A

Starting as Ski Patrol Manager at Deer Valley Resort, Chuck was promoted to Director of Mountain Operations in 1986. As Director of Mountain Operations, Chuck oversaw all mountain activity for summer and winter, including grooming, guest services, snowmaking, ski and bike patrol, lift operations and resort maintenance. In 2013 Chuck was given the Outstanding Contribution Award from the Intermountain Ski Areas Association.

Chuck enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, mountain biking and surfing. He served on the Board of Utah Ski Archives for three years and attended school in University of California in Santa Barbara. Chuck lives in Park City with his wife, daughter, son-in-law and a granddaughter. His son resides in Denver, CO.
