Deer Valley A-Z | Torchlight Parade

Torchlight Parade

The Torchlight Parade will be held on Saturday, December 30 at approximately 6 p.m. (dusk) on Big Stick ski run on Bald Eagle Mountain, behind Snow Park Lodge. Complimentary hot chocolate and cookies will be served on the Snow Park Plaza from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

An annual tradition celebrating the holiday season, the Torchlight Parade is a favorite among Park City locals and Deer Valley® guests alike.

Deer Valley Resort

Emerging from the pitch-black sky, the 16-member Synchronized Ski Team carves down the front of Bald Eagle Mountain, performing moves such as the Segmented Snake, wherein the group starts in one line and then splits into four parallel groups. Their ski suit lights illuminate the sky as a crowd gathers in festive revelry, sipping on cider and cocoa, and snacking on cookies.

Shortly following the synchronized ski display is the Torchlight Parade. Red lights glow like a blazing wildfire as more than 60 skiers light up the dark trail. The spectacle is perfect for families. Kid’s eyes will broaden with delight, and it’s equally fun for adults as they gather with friends before heading out on the town.

The perfect holiday-week celebration, the Deer Valley Torchlight Parade isn’t to be missed during the most wonderful time of the year.

NEW THIS YEAR! In addition to the annual Torchlight Parade, children can meet our four Resort Mascots at the Wide West conveyor lifts at 5:30 p.m. for a Children’s Glowlight Parade and family fun. (Limited to the first 150 participants 7 – 12 years of age.)

The date is incorrect. December 30 is on a Sunday in 2018. If the parade is on Saturday, it would be on December 29.

    Thank you

  9. Deer Valley says:

Hi Debbie, this blog was published in 2017, when December 30 was a Saturday. The parade is always December 30, so this year (2018) it is on Sunday.
