Deer Valley A-Z | Park City

Artsy, eclectic and with a small ski town vibe, downtown Park City is just over a mile from Deer Valley Resort. The historic mining town provides guests with the perfect combination of culture, gastronomy, camaraderie, and nighttime fun in one of the country’s best ski towns.

Gaining world-wide acclaim during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, Park City was actually one of the few Utah towns established by non-Mormons. It all began in the late 1800s when prospecting miners struck silver in what have become the town’s ski areas. The town quickly boomed with schools, businesses, saloons, and a newspaper (The Park Record) that still exists today.

The town’s 27 saloons portrayed a rebellious vibe, but soon after the mining boom, skiing took center stage. And while things are less raucous than during the mining days, Park City is now home to over 100 bars and restaurants.

No matter how long your stay is at Deer Valley Resort, a trip isn’t complete without a visit to Historic Main Street. Stroll past the world-class art galleries, peruse a few shops and stop by a café, or enjoy dinner and then have a drink at one of the after-dark clubs. It’s the buzz of a big city with a small, ski-town vibe.

This truly a five star ski resort I’d recommend!
