The ski school and level of instruction at Deer Valley® is a prime example of how the resort differentiates itself. Since the late, heralded skier Stein Eriksen graced the slopes as Deer Valley’s Director of Skiing, instruction at Deer Valley has been about more than learning how to ski and refining technique. It’s also about creating lasting relationships.

Eriksen worked closely with Deer Valley founders Edgar and Polly Stern. He first gained fame in the 1952 Oslo Winter Olympic Games, winning gold and silver medals in the giant slalom and slalom events, respectively. Moreover, he took pride in skiing and meeting with past students. His signature style typically attracted a crowd while he skied, and that high standard still exists today.
