2020 Intermountain Healthcare Freestyle International Ski World Cup

The world’s most elite moguls and aerials skiers will compete at Deer Valley Resort, February 6 – 8, in the 2020 Intermountain Healthcare Freestyle International. Deer Valley will welcome spectators to watch competitors twist, fly and race their way to the podium on the same runs used during the 2002 Winter Games. All competitions will be held at night under the lights at Deer Valley Resort, and all events are free to the public. As the only domestic World Cup stop for the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team, the event will serve as a refreshing homecoming for these athletes, most of whom call Utah home.

“Moguls and aerials competitions are such unique disciplines, and we are proud to showcase the world’s best athletes in front of lively crowds of awestruck spectators,” said Todd Shallan, Deer Valley Resort president and chief operating officer. “We are proud to be a favorite stop for both our U.S. Freestyle Ski Team, as well as athletes from around the world.”

The 2020 Intermountain Healthcare Freestyle International this February marks 22 years that Deer Valley Resort has played host to international and world competitions. In addition to the 2002 Winter Games, Deer Valley has been the home for freestyle ski events including the 2003, 2011 and 2019 World Championships and 17 World Cups. Continued world-class excellence through hosting major events and exceeding guests’ expectations on every front will forever be the hallmark of Deer Valley Resort’s legacy.

The three-day competition begins Thursday evening, February 6, at 7:30 p.m. (MST) with men’s and women’s moguls scheduled on Champion ski run. Friday night, February 7, brings the flight of the men’s and women’s aerial competitions held on White Owl ski run at 7:30 p.m. (MST). Deer Valley Resort is working in conjunction with U.S. Ski and Snowboard to reduce the environmental impact of the World Cup event we host each year. Last year, Deer Valley began providing water refill stations for athletes, volunteers, and guests. Additionally, Deer Valley worked to divert over 90% of the waste from the World Cup VIP tent from the landfill and worked with Coca-Cola to provide recycling machines to the public. For every can/bottle one of our guests put into the recycling machine, $.05 was donated to the Special Olympics by Coca-Cola. Moving forward, Deer Valley’s focus will be on diverting as much waste as possible from the event and encouraging carpooling as well as taking Park City’s free public transportation to the event.
